This Week In Safari Babies :: God cares for me.

We’re Learning… God cares for me.
Bible Story: Jesus Teaches People ● Matthew 5:1-12; 6:25-34

As a family, read “Jesus Teaches People” (Matthew 5:1-12; 6:25-34) from a children’s Bible. (CLICK HERE for children’s Bible recommendations.)

After reading the Bible story, complete the activity together.

Response Activity:

  • Say, “Let’s do an activity to help us remember God cares for us!”
  • Read each prompt below and encourage your toddler to respond.
    • “Show me your happy face. (Pause.) No matter how you feel, remember God cares for you and He loves you!”
    • “Show me your sad face. (Pause.) When you feel sad, remember God cares for you, and He will always be there to comfort you!”
    • “Show me your scared face. (Pause.) When you feel scared, remember God cares for you, and He is always with you!”
    • “Show me your angry face. (Pause.) When you feel angry, remember God cares for you, and He can help you make good choices, even when it’s hard.”
  • After the activity, say, “Remember, God loves you so much, and He cares for you. Who cares for you?” Encourage your toddler to say, “God cares for me!” Then lead your toddler in prayer:

“Dear God, we’re so thankful for all the ways You care for us. Please help us remember no matter what, we can trust You because You care for us. We love You. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

📚ADD TO YOUR LIBRARY 📚

In addition to reading stories from the Bible each Sunday, we also read a book together that reinforces what we’re learning. This month, we’re reading “God Cares For Me” by Kristen Wetherell. If you’re looking for a faith-based book to add to your child’s library at home, you can learn more about this month’s book HERE!
