We’re Learning… God gave us the Bible.
Bible Story: God Gave Us His Word ● Ephesians 4:32, Hebrews 13:16, and John 14:15
As a family, read “God Gave Us His Word” (Ephesians 4:32, Hebrews 13:16, and John 14:15) from the Bible. (CLICK HERE for children’s Bible recommendations.)
After reading the Bible story, complete the activity together.
Memory Verse Activity:
Activity Supplies: Praise Party Playlist
- Say, “Let’s do an activity to help us remember God is good!”
- Lead your toddler in the activity below.
- Practice saying the memory verse and doing the motions a few times.
“Everything (spread arms wide)
in the Scriptures (open hands like a book)
is God’s Word.” (point up)
2 Timothy 3:16 (open hands like a book)
- Then play the Praise Party playlist and have a dance party with your toddler.
- After about 30 seconds, pause the music and encourage your toddler to stand very still or FREEZE.
- Lead them in saying the memory verse with the motions.
- After saying the verse, turn the music on again and repeat the activity every 30 seconds for as long as your toddler is interested.
- After the activity, say, “Great job! God gave us the Bible. When we read it, we learn how He wants us to live. Who gave us the Bible?” Encourage your toddler to say, “God gave us the Bible!” Then lead your toddler in prayer:
“Dear God, thank You for giving us the Bible Please help us remember to read Your Word so we always know how much You love us. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
📚ADD TO YOUR LIBRARY 📚
In addition to reading stories from the Bible each Sunday, we also read a book together that reinforces what we’re learning. This month, we’re reading “What is the Bible?” by Valerie Carpenter. If you’re looking for a faith-based book to add to your child’s library at home, you can learn more about this month’s book HERE!
NAMES OF GOD
This year, our NextGen ministry is learning about the names of God. This month, we’re focusing on the name Jehovah-Raah. Jehovah-Raah means “The Lord is my Shepherd.” As you pray for your toddler this week, pray they’ll remember God loves them and guides them.
Dear God, thank You for loving us. As my child grows up, I pray they’ll get to know you, Jehovah-Raah, and begin a personal relationship with you. Please help them become aware of how You love them, guide them, and care for them. We love You, God. In Jesus’ name, amen.
