This Week In Safari Babies :: God helps me.

We’re Learning… God helps me.
Bible Story: The Mean Giant ● 1 Samuel 17:1-51

As a family, read “The Mean Giant” (1 Samuel 17:1-51) from a children’s Bible. (CLICK HERE for children’s Bible recommendations.)

After reading the Bible story, complete the activity together.

Song Activity:

  • Say, “Let’s sing a song to help us remember God helps us!”
  • Lead your toddler in singing the song below to the tune of “Mary Had a Little Lamb.”

God helps me, oh yes, He does,
Yes, He does. Yes, He does.
God helps me, oh yes, He does.
    He helps me every day.

  • Continue the activity, but sing your toddler’s name each time.

God helps (toddler’s name), oh yes, He does,
Yes, He does. Yes, He does.
God helps (toddler’s name), oh yes, He does.
He helps (toddler’s name) every day.

  • Repeat the song for as long as your toddler is interested.
  • After the activity, say, “Wonderful job singing! Who helps you?” Encourage your toddler to say, “God helps me!” Then lead your toddler in prayer:

“Dear God, thank You for being our helper! Please help us remember no matter what happens, You will always be here to help us. We love You. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

📚ADD TO YOUR LIBRARY 📚

In addition to reading stories from the Bible each Sunday, we also read a book together that reinforces what we’re learning. This month, we’re reading “The Story of David and Goliath” by Pia Imperial. If you’re looking for a faith-based book to add to your child’s library at home, you can learn more about this month’s book HERE
