This Week In Safari Babies :: God is kind.

We’re Learning… God is kind.
Bible Story: The Ten Commandments ● Exodus 19:9-11

As a family, read “The Ten Commandments” (Exodus 19:9-11) from a children’s Bible. (CLICK HERE for children’s Bible recommendations.)

After reading the Bible story, complete the activity together.

Memory Verse Activity:

Activity Supplies: Playlist

  • Before the activity, practice saying the memory verse and doing the motions a few times.
  • Play the playlist and have a dance party with your toddler.
  • After about 30 seconds, pause the music and encourage your toddler to stand very still or FREEZE.
  • Lead them in saying the memory verse with these motions:

          “God (point up)
is kind… ” (point to smile)
Romans 2:4 (open hands like a book)

  • After saying the verse, turn the music on again and repeat the activity every 30 seconds for as long as your toddler is interested.
  • After the activity, say, “Great job! Who is kind?” Encourage your toddler to say, “God is kind!”

📚ADD TO YOUR LIBRARY 📚

In addition to reading stories from the Bible each Sunday, we also read a book together that reinforces what we’re learning. This month, we’re reading “God is Kind” by Jamie Calloway-Hanauer. If you’re looking for a faith-based book to add to your child’s library at home, you can learn more about this month’s book HERE!

NAMES OF GOD

This year, our NextGen ministry is focusing on the names of God. This month, we’re focusing on the name Yahweh Hesed. Yahweh Hesed is a name used for God which describes God’s loving kindness, forgiveness, mercy, and goodness. As you pray for your toddler this week, pray they’ll grow up to know God personally.

Dear God, thank You for loving us. As my child grows up, I pray they’ll get to know you, Yahweh Hesed, and begin a personal relationship with You. Please help them grow close to You so they can know You for who You are — loving, kind, and good. We love You, God. In Jesus’ name, amen.
