We’re Learning… God made everything.
Bible Story: The Beginning ● Genesis 1

As a family, read “The Beginning” (Genesis 1) from the Bible. (CLICK HERE for children’s Bible recommendations.) 

After reading the Bible story, complete the activity together.

Response Activity:

• Say, “Let’s play a game to help us remember God made everything!”
• Read each prompt below and encourage toddlers to respond.
  • “If you know God made the puffy clouds, pretend to look at the sky through binoculars like this!”
  • “If you know God made all the animals in the sea, pretend to swim around like a fish!”
  • “If you know God made all the birds that fly in the sky, pretend to fly like a bird!”
  • “If you know God made all the animals that live on land, pretend to be a lion and roar!”
  • “If you know God made all the creeping, crawling bugs, pretend to be a bug and crawl around!”
  • “If you know God made people, give a friend a high-five!”

• After the activity, say, “Great job! Who made everything?” Encourage your toddler to say, “God made everything!” Then lead your toddler in prayer:

“Dear God, thank You for making so many good things, even all of us! When we look at all the good things You’ve made, please help us remember how much You love us. We love You. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

NAMES OF GOD 

This year, our NextGen ministry is learning about the names of God. This month, we’re focusing on the name El Rachum. El Rachum means “God of compassion or mercy.” As you pray for your toddler this week, pray they’ll remember God loves them and shows mercy to them.
