This Week In Safari Babies :: I can pray to God.

We’re Learning… I can pray to God.
Bible Story: Daniel and the Lions ● Daniel 6

As a family, read “Daniel and the Lions” (Daniel 6) from a children’s Bible. (CLICK HERE for children’s Bible recommendations.)

After reading the Bible story, complete the activity together.

Memory Verse Activity:

Supplies Needed: music device, Safari Babies Worship Playlist

  • Say, “Let’s learn and practice a memory verse to help us remember we can pray to God!”
  • Lead your toddler in practicing the memory verse below with the motions.

“Never stop (cross hands over each other)

praying.” (fold hands like you’re praying)
1 Thessalonians 5:17 (open hands like a book)

  • Then play the Safari Babies Worship playlist and have a dance party.
  • After about 30 seconds, pause the music and encourage your toddler to stand very still or FREEZE.
  • Lead them in saying the memory verse with the actions. Then turn the music on again and repeat the activity every 30 seconds.
  • After the activity, say, “Great job! This memory verse helps us remember we can always pray to God. Who can pray to God?” Encourage your toddler to say, “I can pray to God!” Then lead your toddler in prayer:

“Dear God, thank You for loving us! We know You are powerful and strong. Please help us always remember we can trust You because You are more powerful than anything. We love You. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

📚ADD TO YOUR LIBRARY 📚

In addition to reading stories from the Bible each Sunday, we also read a book together that reinforces what we’re learning. This month, we’re reading “First I Say a Prayer” by Crystal Bowman and Teri McKinley. If you’re looking for a faith-based book to add to your child’s library at home, you can learn more about this month’s book HERE
