This Week in Motion :: You can have hope because God is faithful.

December Series: With the busyness of the Christmas season, it’s easy to lose sight of why we celebrate in the first place. We forget that at the time of the first Christmas, God’s people were anticipating a Rescuer who would come and save the world. That’s why this December, we’re “decking the halls” to focus on nothing but Christmas. Because of Jesus, it’s possible for us to have a relationship with God that will last forever. This month, take time to remember the reason we celebrate in the first place: Jesus, the greatest gift the world has ever known.

You can have hope because God is faithful.
Goodness and Light (Jesus Is Promised) • Micah 5:2; Isaiah 9:6-7; 7:14-15

In Micah 5:2, Isaiah 9:6-7, and Isaiah 7:14-15, we discover how prophets predicted that God would send a Savior. No one could have expected it would take hundreds of years before Mary, Joseph, or any of the shepherds or wise men came on the scene. The prophets wrote these promises to offer hope to God’s people as they faced exile. Even though it took time, God kept these promises, and because of that, we can still have hope today.

Engage in everyday moments together this week:

  • Morning Time: As your kid starts their day, make a promise to do something with or for them — and make sure you fulfill it.
  • Meal Time: At a meal this week, have everyone at the table answer this question: “What is something you hope will happen in 2024?”
  • Drive Time: While on the go, ask your kid: “What is something you love that God made?”
  • Bed Time: Pray for each other: “God, help us to have hope that You are always at work — even if it’s a small amount. Thank You for the ways You have been faithful in the past. When we remember, it helps us have hope for both now and the future.”
