This Week in Motion Elementary :: Never stop growing in wisdom.

August series: As we “dive deep” into the Bible this month, we’ll discover God is always there to help us make wise choices. God has given us people who can help us make those wise choices too. When Jesus was a boy, He grew in wisdom. God wants us to discover wisdom too. When we make the wise choice, we reflect the character of Jesus to people around us.

Never stop growing in wisdom.
Renew Your Mind Romans 12:2

We wrap up the month in Romans 12:2. Paul was writing a letter to the Romans, in which he encouraged them to “let [their] way of thinking be completely changed.” Paul wanted to remind the believers that God could continually change the way they thought, which would allow them to focus on God’s plan. When we spend time talking to God, learning from Scripture, and listening to others who follow God, we’ll be able to figure out what God wants to do in our lives.

Family Discussion Questions:

  1. What’s the best advice you’ve been given?
  2. What are good things we can fill our lives and minds with?
  3. What has helped you remember to never stop growing in wisdom?

Engage in everyday moments together this week:

  • Morning time: As your kid starts their day, tell them how proud you are of the effort they put into learning something new (or are still learning).
  • Mealtime: At a meal this week, have everyone at the table answer this question: “What is a choice you have to make now or coming up that you need wisdom for?”
  • Drive time: While on the go, ask your kid: “What’s something new you learned this week?” Demonstrate a growth mindset by sharing something you’re learning as well.
  • Bedtime: Pray for each other: “God, help us to always look for and grow in wisdom.”
