WHAT YOU NEED: Bible (Use a children’s Bible if you have one.) 

WHAT YOU SAY: “I love reading the Bible and spending time with Jesus. Let’s read our Bible story together right now!”

WHAT YOU DO: Read “The Beginning” — Genesis 1 from a children’s Bible. (CLICK HERE for children’s Bible recommendations.) 

 

TODDLER ACTIVITIES

Complete the activities below with your toddler to help them learn God made everything.

September 3:

Song Activity:

WHAT YOU DO: 

  • Lead your toddler in singing to the tune of “Jesus Loves Me.”
    God made daytime and night too.
    God made sunlight and the moon.
    God made all the stars at night.
    See them twinkle, oh so bright.God made them all. God made them all.
    God made them all. God made them all.
    God made bugs and God made birds.
    God made fish and cattle herds.
    God made every animal — some are big and some are small.
    God made them all. God made them all.
    God made them all. God made them all.
  • Continue the activity for as long as your toddler is engaged.
  • Say, “Wonderful job singing! Who made everything?” Encourage your toddler to say, “God made everything!”

September 10:

Memory Verse Activity: 

WHAT YOU NEED: Safari Playlist

WHAT YOU DO: 

  • Before the activity, practice saying the memory verse and doing the motions a few times.
  • Play the Safari playlist and have a dance party to help your toddler remember the memory verse.
  • After about 30 seconds, pause the music and encourage your toddler to stand very still or FREEZE.
  • Lead them in saying the memory verse with these motions:
    “God created (stack fists on top of each other)
    the heavens (point up)
    and the earth.” (Point down)
    Genesis 1:1 (open hands like a book)
  • After saying the verse, turn the music on again and repeat the activity every 30 seconds for as long as your toddler is interested.
  • After the activity, say, “Great job! Who made everything?” Encourage your toddler to say, “God made everything!”

September 17:

Response Activity:

WHAT YOU DO: 

  • Say, “Let’s play a game to help us remember God made everything!”
  • Read each prompt below and encourage toddlers to respond.
    • “If you know God made the puffy clouds, pretend to look at the sky through binoculars like this!”
    • “If you know God made all the animals in the sea, pretend to swim around like a fish!”
    • “If you know God made all the birds that fly in the sky, pretend to fly like a bird!”
    • “If you know God made all the animals that live on land, pretend to be a lion and roar!”
    • “If you know God made all the creeping, crawling bugs, pretend to be a bug and crawl around!”
    • “If you know God made people, give a friend a high-five!”
  • Say, “Great job! Remember, God loves you and He is always with you. Who is always with you?” Encourage your toddler to say, “God is always with me!”

September 23:

Song Activity:

WHAT YOU DO: 

  • Lead your toddler in singing to the tune of “Old McDonald Had a Farm.”
    God made all the animals. Look how great He is!
    And on the earth God made a duck.
    Look how great He is!
    With a quack, quack here and a quack, quack there.
    Here a quack, there a quack, everywhere a quack, quack.
    God made all the animals. Look how great He is!
    Repeat the song, using a different animal and its sound each time. (e.g., dog/woof, cat/meow, frog/ribbit, pig/oink, bird/chirp)
  • Continue the activity for as long as your toddler is engaged.
  • Say, “Wonderful job singing! Who made everything?” Encourage your toddler to say, “God made everything!”
