December series: This December, we’re singing loudly as we jam out to our Christmas Playlist to celebrate Jesus, God’s greatest gift! The best gift God ever gave was Jesus. Because of Jesus, we can have a relationship with God that will last forever. As we get in the mix this Christmas season, let’s take time to remember the reason we celebrate in the first place: Jesus, the greatest gift the world has ever known.

Celebrate because God is with you.
An Angel Appears to Mary and Joseph • Luke 1:26-38, Matthew 1:18-25
In both Luke 1:26-38 and Matthew 1:18-25, an angel visited Mary and Joseph to tell them they would be the parents of the coming Savior of the world. They would call Him Immanuel, which means “God with us.” They could have said no and refused, but even though they were afraid, they trusted God was with them through it all.
Family Discussion Questions:
- What’s your favorite Christmas memory?
- Is it always easy for you to remember to celebrate because God is with you?
- What helps you remember God is with you?
Engage in everyday moments together this week:
- Morning Time: As your kid starts their day, tell them about a time when you saw them be kind or comfort someone and how much you admire that.
- Mealtime: At a meal this week, have everyone at the table answer this question: “When is a time you felt lonely? How does it make you feel to know God is always with you?”
- Drive Time: While on the go, ask your kid, “Who is someone you know who makes people feel welcome?”
- Bedtime: Pray for each other: “God, sometimes we feel like we’re alone. Help us to remember You are always with us.”
