This Week In Quest Preschool :: Jesus is alive!

Main point: Jesus is alive!

Bible story: Easter ● Matthew 26:26-28:10

As a family, read “Easter” (Matthew 26:26-28:10) from a children’s Bible. (CLICK HERE for children’s Bible recommendations.)

After reading the Bible story, discuss these questions together:

  • What happened in the Bible story? (Jesus died on the cross, but He came back like He said He would, so we could be His friend forever.)
  • Who wants to be your friend forever? (Jesus)

This week, engage in everyday moments to continue the conversation:

  • Morning Time: When you go into your child’s room, cuddle them and say, “Good morning, (child’s name)! It’s time to get up and celebrate! Jesus is alive, and He wants to be our friend forever! Yay, Jesus!”
  • Cuddle Time: Cuddle with your child and pray, “God, we are so thankful that Jesus is alive and He wants to be our friend forever! Help us remember that Jesus is always with us — loving us, helping us, praying for us. Jesus is the best friend ever!”
  • Bath Time: Add several plastic blocks/toys to bath time. Show your child how to put them into groups of three. Each time you count three items, say, “One, two, three… Jesus is alive!”
  • Drive Time: While on the go, talk about how you want to celebrate Jesus for Easter. Do you want to make cupcakes? Put flowers on the table? Cook a special meal? Jesus is alive, and He wants to be our friend forever. That is worth celebrating!
