This Week In Quest Preschool :: Jesus says to tell others about Him.

Main point: Jesus says to tell others about Him.

Bible story: The Great Commission ● Matthew 28:18-20

As a family, read “The Great Commission ” (Matthew 28:18-20) from a children’s Bible. (CLICK HERE for children’s Bible recommendations.)

After reading the Bible story, discuss these questions together:

  • What happened in the Bible story? (Jesus was on a mountain with His friends, the disciples. He gave the disciple a very important job.)
  • What was the important job Jesus told the disciples to do? (to go and tell everyone about Him)
  • Does Jesus want you to tell others about Him too? (yes)

This week, engage in everyday moments to continue the conversation:

  • Morning Time: When you go into your child’s room, cuddle them and say, “Good morning, (child’s name)! It’s a new day to do what Jesus says and tell everyone that Jesus is alive and He wants to be their friend forever!”
  • Cuddle Time: Cuddle with your child and pray, “God, You love everyone everywhere. You sent Jesus to everyone everywhere. Please help us go and tell others about Jesus so they will know how much Jesus loves them and wants to be their friend forever.”
  • Bath Time: During bath time, repeat the following sentence to your child, “Tell me your favorite (food).” Replace “food” with other things (e.g, color, toy, shoes, animal, etc.). As you help your child get dressed, say, “Jesus says for us to tell everyone everywhere that Jesus is alive and He wants to be their friend forever!”
  • Drive Time: While on the go, take turns naming different people you can tell about Jesus. Talk about how we let our light shine when we do what Jesus says, like caring for others and telling others about Him.
