This Week In Safari Babies :: God helps me.

We’re Learning… God helps me.
Bible Story: The Mean Giant ● 1 Samuel 17:1-51

As a family, read “The Mean Giant” (1 Samuel 17:1-51) from a children’s Bible. (CLICK HERE for children’s Bible recommendations.)

After reading the Bible story, complete the activity together.

Coloring Page Activity:

Supplies Needed: mealtime mat, crayons, paint dabbers, plastic sheet protector (8.5 x 11)

  • Print the mealtime mat.
  • Give it to your toddler, and set out the crayons or paint dabbers.
  • After they finish coloring, place the mealtime mat into the sheet protector. Then ask:
    • “Who do you see on the mealtime mat?” (David, Goliath)
    • “Did God help David face Goliath?” (yes)
    • “Will God always be there to help you too?” (yes)
  • After the activity, say, “Great job! This mealtime mat will help you remember God loves you and is always there to help you! Who helps you?” Encourage your toddler to say, “God cares for me!” Then lead your toddler in prayer:

“Dear God, thank You for being our helper! Please help us remember no matter what happens, You will always be here to help us. We love You. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

📚ADD TO YOUR LIBRARY 📚

In addition to reading stories from the Bible each Sunday, we also read a book together that reinforces what we’re learning. This month, we’re reading “The Story of David and Goliath” by Pia Imperial. If you’re looking for a faith-based book to add to your child’s library at home, you can learn more about this month’s book HERE!
