This Week In Safari Babies :: God is Good.

We’re Learning… God is good.

Bible Story:  David and the Good Shepherd ● Psalm 23

As a family, read “David and the Good Shepherd” (Psalm 23) from a children’s Bible. (CLICK HERE for children’s Bible recommendations.)

After reading the Bible story, complete the activity together.

Song Activity:

  • Say, “Let’s sing a song to help us remember God is good!”
  • Lead your toddler in singing the song below to the tune of “If You’re Happy and You Know It.”

If you know God is good, clap your hands! (clap, clap)
If you know God is good, clap your hands! (clap, clap)
      God is good every day,
and it makes us want to say,
If you know God is good, clap your hands! (clap, clap)

If you know God is good, stomp your feet! (stomp, stomp)
If you know God is good, stomp your feet! (stomp, stomp)
      God is good every day,
and it makes us want to say,
If you know God is good, stomp your feet! (stomp, stomp)

If you know God is good, shout “Hooray!” (“Hooray!”)
If you know God is good, shout “Hooray!” (“Hooray!”)
      God is good every day,
and it makes us want to say,
If you know God is good, shout “Hooray!” (“Hooray!”)

  • Continue the activity as long as your toddler is interested.
  • After the activity, say, “Great job singing! Who is good?” Encourage your toddler to say, “God is good!” Then lead your toddler in prayer:

“Dear God, thank You for loving us. We’re so thankful for Your goodness! Please help us always remember You are good and You love us so much. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

📚ADD TO YOUR LIBRARY 📚
In addition to reading stories from the Bible each Sunday, we also read a book together that reinforces what we’re learning. This month, we’re reading “All Day Long, God is Good!” by Mikal Keefer. If you’re looking for a faith-based book to add to your child’s library at home, you can learn more about this month’s book HERE!

NAMES OF GOD
This year, our NextGen ministry is learning about the names of God. This month, we’re focusing on the name Jehovah Shammah. Jehovah Shammah means “The Lord Is There.” As you pray for your toddler this week, pray they’ll remember God is always with them.

Dear God, thank You for loving us. As my child grows up, I pray they’ll get to know you, Jehovah Shammah, and begin a personal relationship with you. Please help them become aware of your presence. We love You, God. In Jesus’ name, amen.
