This Week In Safari Babies :: God is great.

We’re Learning… God is great.
Bible Story: Daniel and the Lions ● Daniel 6:19-23

As a family, read “Daniel and the Lions” (Daniel 6:19-23) from a children’s Bible. (CLICK HERE for children’s Bible recommendations.)

After reading the Bible story, complete the activity together.

Response Activity:

  • Say, “Let’s do an activity to help us remember God is great!”
  • Read each prompt below and encourage your toddler to respond.
    • “Show me your afraid face! (Pause.) God is great and He is bigger than anything you’re afraid of. If you know God is great, jump up and down!”
    • “Show me your sad face! (Pause.) God is great and He can help you when you’re sad. If you know God is great, clap your hands!”
    • “Show me your happy face! (Pause.) God is great and you can tell Him how great He is. If you know God is great, wave your arms!”
    • “Show me your angry face! (Pause.) God is great and He can help you when you’re feeling angry. If you know God is great, pat your head!”
    • “Show me your tired face! (Pause.) God is great and powerful — He can help you when you’re feeling tired or cranky. If you know God is great, stomp your feet!”
  • After the activity, say, “Great job! Who is great?” Encourage your toddler to say, “God is great!”

📚ADD TO YOUR LIBRARY 📚

In addition to reading stories from the Bible each Sunday, we also read a book together that reinforces what we’re learning. This month, we’re reading “God is Great, God is Good” by Sanna Baker. If you’re looking for a faith-based book to add to your child’s library at home, you can learn more about this month’s book HERE

NAMES OF GOD

This year, our NextGen ministry is focusing on the names of God. This month, we’re focusing on the name Jehovah. Jehovah is the Hebrew name used for God in the Old Testament. As you pray for your toddler this week, pray they’ll grow up to know God personally.

Dear God, thank You for loving us. As my child grows up, I pray they’ll get to know you, Jehovah, and begin a personal relationship with You. Please help them grow close to You so they can know You for who You are — loving, kind, good, and powerful. We love You, God. In Jesus’ name, amen.
