This Week In Safari Babies :: I can help others.

We’re Learning… I can help others.
Bible Story: The Good Samaritan ● Luke 10:25-37

As a family, read “The Good Samaritan” (Luke 10:25-37) from a children’s Bible. (CLICK HERE for children’s Bible recommendations.)

After reading the Bible story, complete the activity together.

Game Activity:

  • Say, “Let’s learn about some people we can help. I’m going to do a movement, and I want you to follow me!”
  • Read each prompt and encourage your toddler to respond:
    • “Follow me and pretend to cook! (Demonstrate.) You can help our family if someone is cooking a meal by themselves!”
    • “Follow me and walk around the room! (Demonstrate.) You can help our neighbors by picking up trash when we go for walks around our neighborhood.”
    • “Follow me and give yourself a BIG hug! (Demonstrate.) You can help your friends when they’re sick or sad by making them a card or bringing them a gift to help them feel better.”
    • “Follow me and point to a toy in the room! (Demonstrate.) You can help others by putting the toys away when it’s time to clean up.”
  • After the activity, say, “Great job! Who can help others?” Encourage your toddler to say, “I can help others!” Then lead your toddler in prayer:

“Dear God, thank You for being with us and showing us how to help others. Please give us kind hearts and help us be ready to serve when someone is in need. We love You. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

📚ADD TO YOUR LIBRARY 📚

In addition to reading stories from the Bible each Sunday, we also read a book together that reinforces what we’re learning. This month, we’re reading “I Can Help” by Jennifer Hilton and Kristen McCurry. If you’re looking for a faith-based book to add to your child’s library at home, you can learn more about this month’s book HERE!
