We’re Learning… I can pray to God.
Bible Story: Daniel and the Lions ● Daniel 6
As a family, read “Daniel and the Lions” (Daniel 6) from a children’s Bible. (CLICK HERE for children’s Bible recommendations.)
After reading the Bible story, complete the activity together.
Response Activity:
- Say, “Let’s learn about some times we can pray to God!”
- Read the prompts and encourage your toddler to respond.
- “If you can pray to God when you’re sick and ask Him to help you feel better, roar like a lion!” (Demonstrate.)
- “If you can pray to God when you’re afraid and ask Him to help you be brave, roar like a lion in a quiet voice!” (Demonstrate.)
- “If you can pray to God when you’re happy and thank Him for everything, roar like a lion as loud as you can!” (Demonstrate.)
- “If you can pray to God when you get hurt and ask Him to help you feel better, roar like a lion as slowly as you can!” (Demonstrate.)
- “If you can pray to God for your friends and family and ask Him to help them, roar like a lion as fast as you can!” (Demonstrate.)
- After the activity, say, “Great job! Remember, we can always pray and talk to God anytime, anywhere. Who can pray to God?” Encourage your toddler to say, “I can pray to God!” Then lead your toddler in prayer:
“Dear God, thank You for loving us! We know You are powerful and strong. Please help us always remember we can trust You because You are more powerful than anything. We love You. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
📚ADD TO YOUR LIBRARY 📚
In addition to reading stories from the Bible each Sunday, we also read a book together that reinforces what we’re learning. This month, we’re reading “First I Say a Prayer” by Crystal Bowman and Teri McKinley. If you’re looking for a faith-based book to add to your child’s library at home, you can learn more about this month’s book HERE!
