This Week In Safari Babies :: Jesus loves me.

We’re Learning… Jesus loves me.

Bible Story: Jesus is Alive! ● Matthew 26-28

As a family, read “Jesus is Alive!” (Matthew 26-28) from a children’s Bible. (CLICK HERE for children’s Bible recommendations.)

After reading the Bible story, complete the activity together.

Memory Verse Activity:

Activity Supplies: Playlist

Before the activity, practice saying the memory verse and doing the motions a few times.

  • Play the playlist and have a dance party with your toddler.
  • After about 30 seconds, pause the music and encourage your toddler to stand very still or FREEZE.
  • Lead them in saying the memory verse with these motions:

“Love comes (hug self)
from God.” (point up)
1 John 4:7 (open hands like a book)

  • After saying the verse, turn the music on again and repeat the activity every 30 seconds for as long as your toddler is interested.
  • After the activity, say, “Great job! Who loves you?” Encourage your toddler to say, “God loves me!” Then lead your toddler in prayer:

“Dear God, thank You for loving us. Please help us always remember no matter what, You’ll always love us. We love you. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

📚ADD TO YOUR LIBRARY 📚

In addition to reading stories from the Bible each Sunday, we also read a book together that reinforces what we’re learning. This month, we’re reading “The Story of Easter” by Allia Zobel-Nolan. If you’re looking for a faith-based book to add to your child’s library at home, you can learn more about this month’s book HERE

NAMES OF GOD

This year, our NextGen ministry is focusing on the names of God. This month, we’re focusing on the name Jehovah Shalom. Jehovah Shalom means the “Lord is peace.” As you pray for your toddler this week, pray they’ll grow up to know God and His peace personally.

Dear God, thank You for loving us. As my child grows up, I pray they’ll get to know you, Jehovah Shalom, and begin a personal relationship with You. Please help them experience Your peace. We love You, God. In Jesus’ name, amen.
