This Week in Motion :: Be truthful with your whole life.

October Series: God is always good. Since the very beginning, God has been faithful and true. If God makes a promise, God keeps that promise. We are created in God’s image… And when we live with integrity, we reflect God’s integrity. When Jesus lived on earth, He lived a perfect life and showed integrity in ways we can’t because of our sin. Jesus makes it possible for us to live as new creations. Through the Holy Spirit, we are being transformed into people of integrity. Who we are in private should match who we are in public. When we trust in God, we can make the wise choice and be truthful in whatever we say and do.

Friends stand up for one another.
Barnabas and Saul ● Acts 9:26-30

In Acts 9:26-30, Saul had a bad reputation with the followers of Jesus. So when Saul decided to follow Jesus, the other believers had a difficult time trusting he had really changed. Barnabas went out on a limb and defended Saul. Because of Barnabas, the followers of Jesus chose to help Saul and trust that Jesus had really changed him.

Engage in everyday moments together this week:

  • Morning Time: As your kid starts their day, tell them about a time when you admired them for standing up for something or someone else either through their actions or words.
  • Meal Time: At a meal, have everyone at the table answer this question: “What does it mean to stand up for someone else? Is it something you’ve ever done or you’ve seen someone else do? What did you or they do and why?”
  • Drive Time: While on the go, ask your kid: “If you could do anything for one of your friends, what would you do?”
  • Bed Time: Pray for each other: “God, give us the courage to stand up for others — whether we know them or not. Let us show others You love them by how we stand up for them.”
